Weightloss Event

Do you want to lose pounds in a week?  There are several fad diets that will allow you to take off 10 pounds in just 7 to 10 days.  Be aware, however that this weight loss does not translate to a long-term slimmer you as much of what you lose is water weight.  However, if you have a big event coming up shortly, you may just want to lose pounds in a week.

Cabbage Soup Diet

Michelle had known that her 10th high school reunion was coming up for months.  She had promised herself that she would get back down to her high school weight.  But, as a busy mom and part time office administrator, she never made it to the gym.  With her reunion only 2 weeks away, she turned to the cabbage soup diet to lose pounds in a week.

The cabbage soup diet is a popular program where you eat as much of the special soup as you want for 7 days.  Every day, you are given special foods  that you can eat in addition to the soup.  For instance, one day you get all the vegetables you want plus one large baked potato with butter.  Another day, you can have up to 8 bananas and 8 glasses of skim milk.

The cabbage soup diet is an excellent way to lose pounds in a week, but it should not be used for more than 7 days as it is not nutritionally balanced.  In addition, one of the reasons it works is because it is a very low calorie semi-fast.  On average, people on the diet eat only 800 calories a day.

Grapefruit Diet

Tawnie’s husband was coming home from Iraq after an 11 month deployment.  During that time, she had often turned to food for comfort.  She had put on about 15 pounds and didn’t want Jim to come home to a “fat wife.”  Tawnie turned to the grapefruit diet to lose pounds in a week.

On the grapefruit diet, she ate a half grapefruit or 8 ounces of grapefruit juice at each meal.  But, the other foods she ate had extremely limited carbs.  For instance, breakfast consisted of two eggs and two bacon strips in addition to the grapefruit.  Lunch was salad greens with unlimited meat and olive oil based salad dressing.  Dinner was Meat or fish, and red or green leafy vegetables in addition to the salad.  She had the grapefruit at lunch and dinner as well.  Right before bedtime, she drank an 8 ounce glass of water.

Soup’s & Calories

Like the Cabbage Soup diet, the Grapefruit diet has very few calories.  Most people eat about 1000 calories a day on the diet.  There are no scientific studies that show that Grapefruit has any “magical” effect on weight loss or fat burning.  But this low calorie low carb diet works for many, including Tawnie.

Tawnie was so excited to be able to meet Jim at the tarmac a slimmer person as a result of her effort to lose pounds in a week.

Discover The Importance Of A Healthy Diet And Exercise

Exercise with Motivation

Importance of Health and Exercise

Just hearing the terms “work out” or “exercise” causes many people to cringe. Yet it is a proven fact that exercise is an important concept for a healthy body and diet routine. Dieting alone will help anyone lose weight, but they must include exercise and working out; as part of the regime to maintain the weight loss and healthy body.

Learning to incorporate an exercise program, as easy as walking daily, will increase your weight loss with a healthy diet. Since many people are stationery for most of their day, adding the exercise to their lives will increase the benefits of the diet. Increasing the amount of activity increases the effects of the healthy eating habits.

Avoid Sugar and Fatty Foods

Assorted Color Sugary Donuts

Avoiding sugary and fatty foods in the diet will increase weight loss when including regiments of walking, jogging, swimming, and riding a bicycle. A healthy diet with exercise creates a healthy life style that will provide long-term weight management as well as a healthier body that is resistant to diabetes, heart disease, and other health complications.

Add water to the daily diet. Drink eight 8-ounce glasses of water to keep the body hydrated and flush out the toxins and fat from the body. The body needs water to have healthy lungs, kidneys, liver, hair, nails, bones, and teeth. Water in the diet also helps the person feel full (temporarily) and removes the urges to eat to relieve the feelings of hunger.

Caffeine Cause Fatigue

Woman vs Fatigue

Avoid caffeine in coffee, tea, and sodas. The caffeine is not a good chemical for the body. Many feel caffeine energizes them but in reality, it actually causes fatigue when the levels drop thus creating weight gain due to the lack of energy to be active.

The more a person is active the more they will lose weight. They will have more energy, from the higher levels of exercise, which will then cause them to burn the stored fat. Losing the stored fat decreases the weight and provides a better looking body for many people.

Using a healthy diet combined with exercise and workouts can become a standard way of life, leading to a longer life span and a healthier body; that can fight off diseases and even the common cold. The well-maintained body is able to fight off heart disease, obesity, diabetes, cancer and other diseases. People have changed their lives with a healthy diet, a good exercise program; consequentily adding more productive years to their life span.

Free Weight Loss For Teens

OVERWEIGHT TEENS

More and more teens are presenting as overweight and obese.  It is becoming an epidemic that is putting a strain on the medical resources and the life expectancy of many young people.  All of which, given the state of the average teenager’s diet, is no surprise.  Therefore, finding a free weight loss for teens program has become a regular quest.

With this in mind, it is important that any program of weight loss that is going to work has to be one that does not exploit or offer unrealistic goals.  Instead a weight loss program that takes into account the growing and changing body and mind of the teenager should always be the preferred option.

Teen vs Weight Loss

Weight Loss for Teens

Without a doubt, any free weight loss for teens program should start with the basics.  A close look should be taken at what the teenager is eating on a regular basis and also, how much physical activity the teenager is taking.

As already stated, some teenagers do not have the healthiest of diets.  Many of them exist on nothing more than junk food.  If this is the case, then the first thing that has to go is that junk food diet.  The more junk food that can be cut out of the diet, the more weight is likely to be lost.

Brownies with Chocolate Topping

Fruit’s and Vegetable’s

Instead a diet made up of fresh fruits and vegetables is what is needed.  This might not sound as interesting as a diet of pizza, fries and hamburgers, but the more fruit and vegetables that are eaten, the better the all round weight management and health.  Does that mean no more pizza ever?  Well no, it just means that pizza, and other considered junk foods, should be eaten sparingly and not eaten as the norm.

Teen Exercise Program With Trainer

Exercise Regularly

The next step towards finding a free weight loss for teens program, is to make sure that there is plenty of regular exercise being taken.  That means getting the heart and lungs pumping and working at least three or four times per week for at least twenty minutes at a time.  It doesn’t mean that any teen who is not gym orientated or who does not enjoy jogging has to start doing those particular activities.  No, any sport or activity that is not preferred, should not be undertaken.  Going for a vigorous walk a few times a week is considered adequate exercise.  Whatever the exercise taken, it should be done so willingly, only then is it more likely to be continued.

Above all, a free weight loss for teens plan should be realistic and not set the teenager up for failure.  Repeated failures are demoralizing and will only result in weight gain.  Small, steady progress is always the way to go to see long lasting weight loss.

Food Calorie Counters Are The Key To Losing Weight

Calorie Checker

Food calorie counters are key to losing weight. Successful dieters will eventually learn that there is only one way to achieve a weight loss. Calorie counting is how a dieter can be sure to lose weight and keep it off. This article will look at the role of food calorie counters in a successful diet.

Weight loss is not found in a pill. The latest diet book won’t offer you a miracle cure. Essentially, you have to burn more calories than you consume. Pills can curb your appetite so that you won’t be hungry when you diet. Diet books can offer you ways to eat fewer calories according to a specific plan. But, essentially, all diets boil down to the same thing: eat less than you burn.

Food calorie counters can help you make smart choices about what foods you consume when you are trying to lose or maintain weight. You must begin counting your calories and capping them at an amount that will allow your body to lose the weight. The use of a food calorie counter can help you to keep track of what you have consumed throughout the day. Don’t guess as to how many calories are in certain foods.  A calorie counter will give you the information you need.

Keep Track Of Calories

You are also advised to use a diet and exercise journal to make sure that you are keeping track of all of your foods eaten. By taking the time to write down everything you consume along with your exercise, you are better able to see where you are having problems and where you are finding success. You may be surprised at the foods that are adding excessive amounts of calories to your diet. The food calorie counter along with a journal will help you find success.

Writing Down Calories in Journal

Write down every food item you have for a week. At the end of each day, look up the calories in each food and total the day’s take. At the end of the week, you can analyze where your problem areas are.  You may be surprised, for instance, at how many calories you are drinking every day and choose to replace these liquid calories with food. Or, you may find that on days when you eat a hearty breakfast, you eat less food during the rest of the day. Alternatively, you may find that you eat high calorie lunches because nothing else is available. You can plan to pack and bring low calorie lunches to work or school with you.

Healthy Breakfast

“The Best Part Of Waking Up Is Count Calorie Calculator In Your Cup”.

Between the food calorie counter and the journal, you should be able to find the weight loss success you have been looking for. As I said earlier, there is no magic cure for weight loss. You will have to watch your calories and limit the amount you are eating.

There are a number of free food calorie counters available online.  You can also purchase them for your iPhone or PDA so that you will have them on the go.  These tools will make your diet much easier.

Will A Spoonful Of Sugar Make Your Child Overweight?

Advertisements

Childhood obesity is on the rise. According to a recent National Health and Nutrition Examination (NHANES) survey, almost one-third of American children can be described as overweight-an increase of nearly 20 percent from a study a decade ago. Fortunately, there’s a lot parents can do to keep their children from becoming overweight.

While many people associate sweetness with table sugar, called sucrose, this is just one type of sugar that provides this taste. There is also sugar in fruits, called fructose, and many foods contain added sugars such as corn syrup, honey and high fructose corn syrup. All sugars are carbohydrates containing four calories per gram and after digestion they travel through the bloodstream where they are used as fuel for the body.

Sugar substitutes, also called low-calorie sweeteners, supply flavor but add little or no calories. Limiting the intake of sugary foods, which often contribute few nutrients to the diet, can be a positive step in decreasing the number of American children who are overweight. Many health experts suggest using a sugar substitute like aspartame to replace the sweetness in some of your child’s favorite foods.

Before being approved by the FDA, sweeteners undergo extensive safety testing to be sure they are safe for consumption by children and pregnant women. According to the American Dietetic Association, children can safely consume aspartame as part of a diet consistent with the Food Guide Pyramid. Snacks are an essential part of any child’s diet, providing energy and nutrients. “The challenge is getting children to snack less on high-sugar foods and more on nutrient-dense snacks from the Food Guide Pyramid,” says Keith Ayoob, a registered dietitian from the American Dietetic Association and a pediatric nutrition expert at Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York City. He recommends “sweet” snacking on low-fat, sugar-free yogurt, fresh fruit, raisins and other dried fruit, 100- percent fruit snacks, sugar-free flavored gelatin, fruit juice pops made with reduced sugar juice and sugar-free flavored water.
Nutrition experts agree sweet foods can be part of a healthful diet. The key is moderation-to ensure that sweet foods do not crowd out more nutrient-dense foods. Sugar substitutes have the potential to serve as effective weight management tools when used together with physical activity and healthy food choices. • Althea Zanecosky is a registered dietician, national spokesperson for the American Dietetic Association and a mother of two daughters. Foods sweetened with sugar substitutes provide healthy alternatives for children.

When It Comes To Fast Weight Loss….Just Remember That 2+2 Doesn’t Always Equal 4

Advertisements
Women and Weight Loss

…Everybody knows that calories are the enemy, and that more calories equals more weight gained. Therefore, most people believe that losing weight is as simple as cutting way back on calories. It’s just simple mathematics, right? After all, if you’re eating 3,000 calories per day and you cut back to 1,000 calories per day, then those extra 2,000 calories have to be burned from your body, right? It’s as simple as 2 + 2 equals 4, right? Well, this is not exactly true.

Burger’s & Fries vs Calories

First, let’s talk about the average person who begins a diet. The scenario usually goes something like this… One day you look in the mirror and you finally get fed up with the way your body looks (or the way that your clothes fit) – and on this day you get “angry” with yourself, and you begin cutting way back on calories in an attempt to starve yourself thinner. So you officially begin your “starvation diet.”

Women Looking At Herself In The Mirror

On the first day you skip breakfast altogether (after all, you’re so filled with anger and motivation that it’s easy to skip breakfast). Then, a few hours later your motivation quickly gives way to severe hunger – since your body is not accustomed to being without calories for so long. Finally, by lunchtime you’re so hungry that you feel weak and miserable, but yet you tell yourself that you can make it through this tough hunger (after all, you don’t want to look like a quitter to your friends and family who know that you’re dieting).

This is why virtually all starvation dieters cannot make the scale go down after about 2 weeks of dieting. This is why even the most determined of “starvation dieters” always fail after just a couple of weeks. The truth is that “noticeable” weight loss simply cannot be achieved by starvation, and it’s pointless to even try that type of diet. True weight loss can only be achieved by giving your body the right types of calories at the right times each day. Your body is like a big engine, and the truth is that it needs all 3 types of calories (protein, carbs, and fat) to some degree. The best way to lose weight is to effectively manage these 3 types of calories, so that your body receives the proper amount of protein, the proper amount of carbs – and also the proper amount of fat each day.

For example, let’s say that you normally eat 2,500 calories per day (before you begin dieting). Then, you suddenly try to starve yourself by eating only 1,000 calories per day. Guess what? Even though you’re eating 1,500 fewer calories per day your body will begin burning 1,500 fewer calories per day – so your weight will remain the same even though you’re starving yourself. When your body begins burning fewer calories it’s called a weight loss “plateau.”

Watermelon Slices

So you have a small piece of fruit for lunch perhaps, bravely trying to stick to your plan of starving yourself thin. Then, hours later when dinnertime arrives you’re so hungry and weak that you have a big migraine headache – and you’re beginning to realize that starving yourself might not be such a good idea after all. However, you try to hold out for another day or two on this miserable diet – since nobody likes to feel like a quitter. So you’ll probably hold out for another day or two, making yourself miserable in the meantime. There are even some brave dieters who may hold out for a week or so, possibly even 2 weeks for the bravest of dieters.

However, regardless of how long you hold out — the result is still the same. You see, even after 2 weeks of starving you won’t have made any noticeable difference to your body when you look in the mirror. Why? Simple, because the weight lost during a starvation diet is largely water weight, not real weight loss. This water weight will be gained back immediately when you stop dieting and begin eating normally again. Also, when you starve yourself your body begins burning fewer calories each day — so even though you’re eating fewer calories each day you must remember that your body is also burning fewer calories.

Yoga For Stress Relief

Yoga and Meditation

Yoga is a science. That is something to grasp. Yoga is a science, and not a vague, dreamy drifting or imagining. While it is true the west has been familiar with the practice of yoga for a relatively short time, yoga is not a new discipline , and it has been studied and practiced in many countries during the last century. Yoga is an applied science, a systematized collection of laws applied to bring about a definite end. It takes up the laws of psychology, applicable to the unfolding of the whole consciousness of man on every plane, in every world, and applies those rationally in a particular case.

This rational application of the laws of unfolding consciousness acts exactly on the same principles that you see applied around you every day in other departments of science. Yoga uses many of the techniques that are used in more modern and lately developed psychological or even medial physical exercise disciplines. As one ages he learns that by looking at the world around you, how enormously the intelligence of man, co-operating with nature, may quicken “natural” processes, and the working of intelligence is as “natural” as anything else. The yoga way not only combines this feeling of “cosmos” but also works beneath the surface to strengthen the unity of man with the universe.

We make this distinction, and practically it is a real one, between “rational” and “natural” growth, because human intelligence can guide the working of natural laws; and when we come to deal with Yoga, we are in the same department of applied science as, let us say, is the scientific farmer or gardener, when he applies the natural laws of selection to breeding. The farmer or gardener cannot transcend the laws of nature, nor can he work against them. He has no other laws of nature to work with save universal laws by which nature is evolving forms around us, and yet he does in a few years what nature takes, perhaps, hundreds of thousands of years to do.

This can be done by applying human intelligence to choose the laws that serve him and to neutralize the laws that have a negative effect on the goal of the farmer. The farmer brings the divine intelligence in man to utilize the divine powers in nature that are working for general rather than for particular ends. Yoga is something that can make a real change in peoples lives, we have seen this many times, from the physical practice of yoga to the philosophical implications, through the knowledge of the science of yoga, all that is yoga combines into a bigger, complete discipline that is beneficial for humanity. For some calling yoga is a way to allow this to pass as a acceptable means of physical development, for others it seems like it contradicts the very spiritual nature of yoga, the different faces of yoga, as its different uses sometime creates the illusion of one single use.

How A Natural Enzyme Can Improve And Maintain Your Health

Advertisements
Photo Image by Canva Print

Over thirty years ago, a German physician, Dr. Hans Neiper, faced with the problems that are still unresolved by mainstream medicine today, looked to nature to find a way that would deal with all and any type of inflammation.

Inflammation is anything in the body that should not be there. Any “non living tissue”. And quite simply, this is just about anything that causes pain. Blockages, such as in the head or chest from mucus, like catarrh, sinus or bronchial problems, asthma, emphysema, or industrially induced problems including asbestosis.

Things like blood clots, prostate problems, arthritis, ulcers and a mass of other problems that your doctor will tell you cannot be helped are all caused by inflammation.

Serrapeptase is the enzyme that the silkworm uses to dissolve its cocoon. Dr. Neiper realised that if the silkworm, when it turns from being the worm into a moth, and it does so in a very short time, must have something that dissolves “non living tissue”, because the cocoon is a hard structure of dead tissue.

Dr. Neiper separated the enzyme out, gave it to his patients and achieved staggering results, very quickly.

He gave it to one patient due for amputation of a hand because of a blocked artery. It cleared the blockage and the man kept his hand. He also reported that Serrapeptase dissolved blood clots and caused varicose veins to shrink or diminish.

To achieve the huge amount required in the world today, Serrapeptase is now naturally processed commercially through fermentation. Histological studies have revealed powerful anti-inflammatory effects of this naturally occurring enzyme.

Known possible benefits may be the resolving of pain; dealing with lung problems; eye problems; ENT problems (Ear-Nose-Throat); trauma; inflammation of any kind; cardiovascular difficulties and very importantly, arthritis.

In 25 years of being prescribed by German doctors, no harmful side effects have been reported.

Serrapeptase can, and does, resolve many problems that doctors tell us are insoluble.

However, we need to remember that many of the problems we experience with our health are often closely tied to our diet.

If we eat junk food, we will get junk health. When shopping in the supermarket, look at the labels. How many E numbers or things that are clearly not proper, natural food are there in the packet?

Also, anything that is in the form of so called “sugar free” invariably contains aspartame and other things which are detrimental to our health. So, try to keep to a good diet.

Alternative remedies, many of which have stood the test of time, in some cases many hundreds of years, finally offer hope to a lot of people.

Serrapeptase is a recent addition to the list, being “discovered” only 35 or so years ago. But it is one that works for many people.

American spends $50 billion every year on weight loss programs and diet pills. Unfortunately, 22% of this goes to fake weight loss products. More and more people are facing the problem of obesity and a lot of them are resorting to weight loss supplements. While some people have benefited from these supplements, there are still a lot of people who are clueless on what type to buy. In the end, they are left frustrated without loosing a single pound. Worry no more! Here are some proven tips to help out weight losers wannabes when buying diet pills in the market:
1. Before buying diet supplement, consult a doctor. There are weight loss supplements that are available only by prescription. Do not forget to tell the doctor about allergies to certain medication and health history.
2. For over the counter supplements, decide what kind to buy. There are numerous types available in the market today. Some are appetite suppressants while some help the body to absorb fat. Also, do not forget to check the ingredients and carefully read the labels to avoid serious side effects like high blood and heart valve lesions. Also, make sure it will not react negatively on any other medications that are currently being taken. It would also help to have it checked by the doctor before taking it.

7. Remember that dietary products that promise quick weight loss usually do not have the approval of FDA. Most of these products have severe side effects that lead to drastic weight loss.
8. Research the internet for diet pills that are proven to have side effects. For example, a Brazilian diet pill was recently sold in USA that contains drugs and chemicals like antidepressants, tranquilizers, and amphetamines. This pill was advertised as all natural but was proven dangerous to health.
9. Never buy Ephedra based supplements; they are deeply associated with strokes and death.
10. Look for supplements that contain essential nutrients like Omega fatty acids, B12, calcium, and liver oils which are very important especially to women.
11. Buy products that are endorsed or recommended by health professionals or body builders.
12. Do not depend on weight loss supplement alone. Eat healthy and exercise. Try working out in the gym for at least 3 times a week and get incredible results! Weight loss supplements have been in the market for sometime now but their effects in the long run has not yet proven. People who are serious about losing weight must aid supplements with exercise and well balanced diet. This is the most effective way in shedding pounds the healthy way.

Health Problem Obese Child Face

Children Face Danger
A health problem obese child faces can range from things like the future likelihood of diseases like diabetes and heart disease to things like childhood asthma. Being a heavy kid is statistically proven to raise your chances of growing up to be a heavy adult. The health problem obese child faces are serious, but losing weight and getting healthy as soon as possible can greatly reduce those serious risks.

A health problem obese child faces that not many people think of when they think of heavy kids is the potential for arthritis and joint problems. While it’s obvious that a heavy adult has a better chance of developing arthritis, bad knees and other joint problems, few people think of these things in terms of childhood obesity.

But when a child is obese, their bodies and joints are carrying that extra weight longer than the adult who becomes overweight. In some cases with very obese kids, the extra weight can actually cause bones and joints to develop abnormally.

When the joints are under more pressure than they were designed for and they’re still growing, it can cause some serious problems. Even if they grow normally, they’re still faced with carrying more weight than they should.

Most arthritis is caused by years of wear on a joint. When that wear is made worse by a person being heavy as a child, that means they’ve had more years of wear than a normal weight adult. This makes the risk of early arthritis and other joint conditions a very real one.

Damage and chronic problems with the ankles and knees are more likely to occur at a young age. And a health problem obese child faces at a greater risk is something called slipped capital femoral epiphyses or SCFE.

This is a damaging hip condition that requires surgery to minimize damage to the hip joint. It occurs with much greater frequently in obese kids and adults than in those of a healthy weight.
